Getac Holdings explained the verdict of a design patent infringement lawsuit on behalf of its subsidiaries

Taipei, Taiwan, 9th, June, 2022- Getac Holdings Corporation (TSE:3005), held a press conference today at 7p.m. to explain the verdict of a design patent infringement lawsuit filed by Japanese company Panasonic Holdings Corporation against its subsidiaries Getac Technology Corporation and Getac Inc. on June 5, 2019 in the United States District Court of Central District of California. Panasonic claimed that the K120 products sold by the company's subsidiaries Getac Technology Corporation and Getac Inc. infringed the four US design patents it had obtained; later, on October 23, 2019, it withdrew one patent infringement claim, and on March 24, 2020, the UX10 rugged tablet computer was added as an infringing product. In this case, on June 9, 2022, the United States District Court of Central District of California ruled that the above infringement was established, and Getac Technology Corporation and Getac Inc. had to pay the Japanese company Panasonic Holdings Corporation a compensation of USD 17 million; the company will discuss with lawyers the follow-up deal with matters.
